Hello
Well done for creating a fantastic CD Ripping Program, Works very well
I have used many Rippers over the years, EAC, DB PowerAmp etc
But I really liked EASY AUDIO COPY so I purchased It
When using the other Rippers, there are options for various Tagging Databases, all of the database vary in quality, some being much better than others
BUT with EASY AUDIO COPY, for some crazy reason, they have chosen the very very worst database on the planet.
Every commercial CD I Rip, I am having to edit the tag info
Most of the time the ARTISTS say Various Artists for every Track ?
There are constant errors in most of the data
Some CDs are not even in the database.
Never Had This Issue in when I purchased DB PowerAmp
So My Question is why have the designers of Easy Audio Copy chosen such a rubbish database to extract tagging data ??
5 Stars for a great program 1 Star for Tagging Database
Why not ditch this rubbish database and use some of the others out there with much better content
Regards

This is what I am talking about The tag database is awful I ripped my frankie valli and the 4 seasons set For the artist it should have said frankie valli but no... this awfull tag database puts the artist for every track as Various Artists why its not Various Artists ..... Its frankie valli and the four seasons .... so I now have to edit all the artist and delete Various Artists and Replace with Frankie Valli
What is wrong with this default tagging database, It's full of errors
and if I see another ripped CD with Artist saying ..... Various Artists.... I will Scream !!!
They are not various Artists .....

Hello,
sorry that you don't like the tag results. There is not a single database used (as also in dbPoweramp) but a variety of metadata sources. Basically Easy Audio Copy uses the same providers as dBPowerAmp, but perhaps the auto-calculation which value to take is too restrictive.
Anyway, there is an easy way in the application to directly change eg. the artists (see the pen button). So it isn't necessary to use a different tagging application afterwards to correct the tags.
If you like, you can send me some log files for CDs which didn't work out that good and I will have a look. Please contact me via the official email address for more details.
Best regards, Andre
